I listen to lots of music. When I hear something new that really stands out, I want to share it with people! This page is where I will periodically post an album or song I have recently discovered that strikes me in some way. Updates whenever.
Ok, honestly I forgot how I found this website. I don't think I can just randomly come across a 20+ year old geocities page for a radio station run out of Utah (I live on the East Coast). It's probably the Bran Flakes again, they feature on the station a few times. Regardless, I found this website, and the description interested me, and I saw they'd archived their 2-decade-old playlists. So I said screw it, I have a flight coming up, I hate flying, let me see how many of these I can find on spotify to save for the trip. Sorry. Yes I use spotify. One day I will break free. Ahem.
So, after working on it on-and-off for a while, here's the playlist of as many of the songs from both the 2001 and 2002 lists I could find on Spotify. If a song wasn't on there I either skipped it or added something else by the artist. If you're that curious you can look up the songs yourself, a lot of them are on the web in other places. This was mostly for me. But it was fun! It really is a range of everything the website promised, some really good, some really bad, you've got the standard fare outsider music, a lot of novelty music both old and new, a little avant-garde, a little indie, some mainstream, some stuff by artists I'd known for one thing and never known about other things they did. A lot of The Residents. And I like the Residents!
